Have you ever felt unworthy, less than, or undesirable? I cannot be the only woman who struggles with my worth. Who is with me?
As much as I enjoyed the weeks we spent discussing our dreams together, from the beginning I felt compelled to caution about one thing. We touched on it a couple of times, but I believe this idea of A Woman’s Worth deserves it’s own series.
Even though I believe God can use the dreams He gives us to mold and shape us into His Son’s likeness, our identity and worth are not determined by our dreams or achievements, our work or the labels society places on us, our friends, fame, or fortune.
A Woman’s Worth
We are worth more than all those things combined to the God of Heaven and earth Who not only created us in His image, but redeemed us with His own Son’s blood. And He determined our worth long before we could even comprehend it ourselves, let alone work for it.
Our identity as children of God and our worth as daughters of the King ought to be what drives our dreams because their foundation is derived from the good works God created for us to accomplish for His glory. Achieving our dreams does not add any extra value. He includes us in His good work because He already values us. And no matter what the world may try to tell us, the death of our dreams, a lack of success, or the absence of accolades does not degrade our value.
In fact, failure in this life may help us treasure our eternal value even more.

So we are going to spend the next few weeks talking about our worth, our identity, the dangers of using earthly measures to determine our value, who and what determines our worth, the difference between what describes us and what defines us, the perils of pride and striving, and the real cost of our mistakes.
I once read the quickest way to determine the worth of a work of art was to put it up for auction. The fast paced bidding war and fear of missing out on a masterpiece make it the perfect storm of price escalation. You’ll easily see just what a bunch of rich bidders are willing to pay for a some oil colors splattered on canvas.
God’s MASTERPIECE
We are God’s MASTERPIECE. He placed us on the auction block and then bid His Son in exchange for our souls.
You see it is the Master who sets the selling price for the Masterpiece. The One who created us, declared us to be priceless. He alone has the final say on our worth.
I have a few of my own creations I’ve been hard pressed to part with. So, I’ve set sky high prices to make it worth my while to part with them. Sure, I could recreate them, but I love them so much I don’t want to let them go. And so it is with our Creator. He cannot bear to part with a single one of us. He set our price so high Satan couldn’t compete and then paid in blood to make us His own.
God alone determines our worth. He declared it at creation, paid for it in the blood of Christ, sealed it in the tomb, and confirmed it by the resurrection. His crucifixion cancels all our debt and in Him we find our only real and lasting value. God declared us worth dying for.
So, let’s stop cheapening ourselves and start living like we’re worth dying for.

You are right on! If we are worth dying for, how much more worthy can we get?
I love you, friend! Thanks for always being so encouraging! I pray this series will free women from feeling like they have to strive for worthiness in this world! XO
This is excellent, and the words have hooked me in my use of time. If I’m God’s masterpiece and I’m priceless to Him, I must not squander my minutes or take on more than I can manage with grace. He’s telling me that it’s worth it to say “no” to some things.
Mmmm…. so very true, Michele. Time is a precious commodity!
Great point, Michelle! I find I’m not using my time wisely. I must use it for Him!

I needed so much this post today! Encouraged my heart! Thanks for sharing!
I’m looking forward to this series, Liz. Because of how I was raised, my psyche sometimes has to fight with the liar about my worthiness. So thankful that His whisper is louder, and that “He’s declared (me) priceless and He alone has the final say.” Beautiful, friend. Thank you. — And, congratulations on winning the #ChasingCommunity drawing this month! Yay for you! I rarely win anything either, so I’m so excited for this treat for you. 🙂 Send me your info along with which one you’d like and I’ll get it right out to you. Thankful for you, Liz. ((xoxo))
Amen, friend! We are priceless! I pray the rest of the series will also speak truth deeply into your soul! XO
So glad I ended up next to you at Chasing Community today! I’ve been realizing over the last couple of days how much I struggle in this whole area. I know the truth in my head but I fibd it hard to really believe it in my heart. Look forward to reading more of this series.
I think that is true for most of us women, Lesley! It certainly is for me! Praying these words will take root soul-deep over the next few weeks! Blessings!
I love the analogy of the artwork - how God has put us up for auction and then paid the highest price - his Son.
Thanks, Rachel! It makes it so real for me! Blessings!
great idea for a series! Live like you are worth dying for. Awesome! Could also say, “love” like you are worth dying for. other subs — “dream”… “pray”… “forgive”…
For sure. Our eternal worth ought to permeate all we do here on earth! Blessings!
Hi Liz, as a fellow creative I can relate to this quote:
I have a few of my own creations I’ve been hard pressed to part with. So, I’ve set sky high prices to make it worth my while to part with them. Sure, I could recreate them, but I love them so much I don’t want to let them go. And so it is with our Creator. He cannot bear to part with a single one of us.
Visiting from #livefreethursday. Blessings to you!
I love considering that is the way God feels about me!! Brings so much into perspective! Blessings!
I love this! I can’t wait to dive into this series!!
Thanks, Karissa! Praying God encourages and inspires you through these words.
